Ambedkar Jayanti
Ambedkar Jayanti is an annual festival celebrated in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, who is also known as Babasaheb Ambedkar. It is celebrated on April 14th every year. On this day, people pay tribute to Dr. Ambedkar and his contributions to the Indian society by organizing various events such as lectures, seminars, and cultural programs. The Indian government also pays homage to Dr. Ambedkar by organizing various events at the national level, including the President of India paying floral tributes to his statue at the Parliament House.
The day is observed as a public holiday in some Indian states, and people gather to celebrate the life and work of Dr. Ambedkar, who worked tirelessly for the rights of the Dalits and the socially disadvantaged. The day is an occasion to reflect on the values of social justice, equality, and fraternity that Dr. Ambedkar championed and to renew the commitment to these ideals.
