Modi began his political career in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a right-wing Hindu nationalist organization. He later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and became its Chief Minister in the state of Gujarat in 2001, a position he held until 2014.
In 2014, Modi led the BJP to a resounding victory in the Indian general elections and became the 14th Prime Minister of India. He was re-elected as the Prime Minister in 2019.

Some of his notable initiatives include Make in India, Digital India, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign), Jan Dhan Yojana (financial inclusion scheme), and Ayushman Bharat (universal health coverage scheme).
Modi's leadership has been both praised and criticized, with some lauding his economic policies and others criticizing his government's handling of issues such as religious intolerance and human rights violations. Nonetheless, Modi remains a popular and influential figure in Indian politics, both within India and globally.
