Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi was born on June 19, 1970, in New Delhi, India, to Sonia Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, who were both prominent political figures in India. He grew up in a political family and was exposed to politics from a young age. He completed his schooling in Delhi and then went on to obtain a degree in economics from Harvard University.

Political Career:

Rahul Gandhi entered politics in 2004, when he contested and won his first election to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian parliament, from the constituency of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. He has since been re-elected from Amethi in subsequent elections.

In addition to his role as a Member of Parliament, Rahul Gandhi has also held several positions within the Indian National Congress, the political party that his family has been associated with for generations. He served as the party's General Secretary from 2007 to 2017 and as its Vice President from 2013 to 2017.

In 2017, Rahul Gandhi was elected as the President of the Indian National Congress, succeeding his mother Sonia Gandhi. During his tenure as party president, he worked to modernize the party's structure and organization, and also played an active role in shaping the party's election strategy.

After the Congress party's defeat in the 2019 general election, Rahul Gandhi resigned from his position as party president. However, he continues to be a prominent member of the party and a vocal critic of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. In the 2019 election, Rahul Gandhi also contested from the Wayanad constituency in Kerala, and was elected to the Lok Sabha from that seat.
